LISTEN: Pinellas Updating Special Needs Shelters for Hurricane Season

CLEARWATER -- Pinellas County is updating registrations for its three hurricane shelters, used by people with special needs.

Nick Morrow with Pinellas Emergency Management says that through Friday (23rd), they're calling all of the 45-hundred people who signed up last year. Next week, they'll call back anyone who missed the first call. If they still don't make contact, they'll send a letter with a new application.

Morrow says the county does this every year, to make sure that medical and contact information is up to date, so that they can reach out to offer transportation when a storm approaches.
