Hillsborough County Spraying For Mosquitoes Tonight

TAMPA -- Hillsborough County is spraying for mosquitoes Friday night into Saturday morning, using a plane at an altitude of 300 feet with Dibrom, which kills adults.

The aerial spray areas include 58-hundred acres in Apollo Beach west of U-S 41, and 85-hundred acres in Keystone, west of the Veterans Expressway.

A news release from the county describes the spray areas in more detail:

Apollo Beach 5,816 acres  

North Boundary:  Mann’s Harbour Drive 

South Boundary:  South of Cockroach Bay 

East Boundary: West of S. Tamiami Trail (U.S. 41) 

West Boundary: Tampa Bay (body of water) 

Keystone 8,510 acres 

North Boundary:  Plainview Road 

South Boundary: Westwood Lakes Boulevard/South of S. Mobley Road 

East Boundary: West of Veterans Expressway 

West Boundary: West County Line 

In case of weather or mechanical problems, alternate days are June 8th (Saturday) and June 9th (Sunday). Spraying will happen between 9:00 p.m. and 6:00 a.m.
