Have you been to the most boring tourist trap in Florida?
This unique spot draws in a very specific crowd and is among travelers' favorite detours! While there are a handful of tourist destinations scattered across Florida that promise an unforgettable experience, this one is different.
People planning a trip to Florida might schedule time to check out Ocean Drive, Disney World, or perhaps one of the state's many beaches, but this surprising destination doesn't often make the list of the top places to visit in the state.
According to an updated list compiled by Far & Wide, the most boring tourist trap in all of Florida is the City of Live Mermaids in Week Wachee. This location boasts "half-fish, half-human performances in an underwater theater."
Here's what Far & Wide had to say about the most boring tourist trap in the entire state:
"It should come as no surprise that this attraction featuring a popular male fantasy (all the “mermaids” wear appropriately skimpy bathing-suit tops) peaked in popularity in the 1960s. If “Mad Men” taught us anything, it’s that the ‘60s were wholly a man’s world. But even though its popularity has waned over the years, the City of Live Mermaids is still very much kicking, or rather swimming, today."
